Ian, or 'Mucky' as he is affectionately known in the sailing community, is a boat builder by trade. He is always the guy covered in paint, grease or whatever material he works with during the day hence the nickname! Since 1992 he has worked with many different varieties of yacht.

Most recently Ian has worked with Ellen MacArthur on her last B&Q Trimaran and before that he worked on an Open 60 campaign with Mike Golding on Ecover. He has also worked on the Challenge event and for a syndicate competing for the Americas Cup.

Ian will be responsible for many aspects of the boat including the structure, fittings, electronics and the engine.
